NOTE: This is a 16 volt battery, not a standard 12 volt battery found in most cars. It will ONLY work in 16 volt applications (usually on drag racing cars).
The VPH16-900 is used primarily in drag applications without an alternator, but it can also be used with an alternator. This unit is very powerful and can start and power the car through several runs, or through one run and be used to run fans after a run. It has been improved in the last year to provide more capacity and power than previous versions.
Unlike less expensive competitors, the VPH16-900 has a full battery management system which protects battery from failure. Because of this, battery can last up to 10 years with proper use, and has a 2 year full warranty.
