FAULT PROTECTION
All Voltphreaks batteries (except the "A" models) contain a fault detection circuit that upon detecting a fault, will disconnect the battery, preventing damage to the battery. Faults include overcharging the battery, or using the battery if the battery is damaged (for example, by being over-discharge or short circuited).
The "A" models of Voltphreaks batteries contain fault detection also, that will sound a buzzer, but the battery will not be automatically disconnected.
Overcharging can shorten the life and possibly damage any battery. The fault detection circuit inside Voltphreaks batteries (except for "A" models) will disconnect the battery before damage occurs from overcharging. Overcharging is very uncommon, and requires the battery to be charged to an excessive level (16V or higher). The protection circuitry allows the battery to safely handle short spikes in voltage that may possibly be encountered in normal use, and the fault protection will not be triggered in these cases.
